This role is responsible for safely transporting goods and/or vehicles to their destinations, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The Driver will also be expected to maintain the vehicle in good condition and provide exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans, or trucks, depending on the job requirements.
- Transport goods or passengers to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure a safe driving experience.
- Perform routine checks on the vehicle before and after each trip to ensure its proper functioning.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained at all times.
- Provide a high level of customer service to passengers or clients, ensuring positive and professional interaction.
- Assist passengers with loading and unloading of goods, if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with clients or company representatives as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
- Complete required paperwork, such as trip logs, inspection reports, and delivery confirmations.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work hours and schedules, as some positions may require weekend or evening shifts.
- Ability to handle unexpected situations or changes in routes efficiently.
- Previous experience in a similar driving role.
- Knowledge of local routes and geography.
- Defensive driving certification.
- Ability to lift 50-100lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver, with a solid understanding of traffic rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, if required.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps.
- Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
- Physical fitness and the ability to remain alert during long periods of driving.
